Where do I start when a pull request wasn’t reviewed?
Look at the pull request’s checks for one namedrapid-review. Whether it’s there, and what it says, tells you why the pull request wasn’t reviewed.
Why is there no rapid-review check at all?
Norapid-review check usually means one of these:
- The App isn’t installed on the account, or its installation on GitHub doesn’t include the repository.
- Reviews aren’t switched on for the repository in Rapid Review. A repository that isn’t switched on gets no check.
- The pull request is a draft or closed. A draft is reviewed once it’s marked ready for review.
What does a skipped check titled “Not reviewed” mean?
A skippedrapid-review check titled “Not reviewed” gives the reason in its summary:
- “Pull requests from forks are not reviewed on this server.” Pull requests from forks aren’t reviewed.
- “The free tier reviews public repositories only.” The repository is in the free tier but is private.
- The repository has had its 50 reviews in the free tier this month (UTC). Reviews resume next month.
- The installation’s review budget for the day is spent. The budget is per UTC day. Once the next day starts, re-run the check, or comment
@rapidreview-dev review, to have the push reviewed. - “Not reviewed: later pushes on request”. The repository reviews later pushes only when someone asks. Comment
@rapidreview-dev reviewon the pull request, or re-run the check.
Why is the check in progress with “Waiting for the description”?
The repository has the review of a later push wait for the pull request’s title or description to be updated. The review starts once an edit after the push has gone 10 seconds without another edit, 90 seconds after the push at the latest, or at once when someone comments@rapidreview-dev review or re-runs the check.
The check says the review failed or is incomplete: what now?
“Review failed: …”, “Review incomplete, …”, or “Not reviewed: …” with a cause such as “review service unavailable”, means a review started but couldn’t review all of the change. Re-run therapid-review check on GitHub, or comment @rapidreview-dev review on the pull request. Parts an earlier review already reviewed unchanged aren’t reviewed again, so a re-run mostly reviews what was missing.
